Midnight Raid in Kwara: Gunmen Abduct Four Residents in Fresh Attack

Residents of a quiet community in Kwara State were left in shock and fear after a group of armed men carried out a midnight raid, abducting four villagers and unleashing terror throughout the area.

According to eyewitnesses, the heavily armed attackers stormed the community in the early hours of the morning, firing shots into the air and breaking into homes. The incident, which occurred around midnight, sent panic across the village as families fled for safety.

How the Kwara Kidnapping Happened

Sources within the community reported that the gunmen arrived in large numbers and moved swiftly, targeting specific houses. The victims — two men and two women — were reportedly taken at gunpoint and led into a nearby forest.

Locals said there was no immediate response from security agencies during the attack, raising concerns about the growing insecurity in the region.

Residents Cry Out Over Growing Insecurity

A community leader, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, condemned the attack and appealed to the Kwara State Government and security forces to intervene before the situation worsens.

"This is not the first time something like this has happened, but the level of violence last night was terrifying. We need help before our people are wiped out," the source said.

Police Yet to Issue Official Statement

As of the time of filing this report, the Kwara State Police Command has not released an official statement regarding the incident. However, efforts are reportedly underway to locate the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.

A Growing Trend in Northern and Central Nigeria

This incident adds to the rising number of kidnappings in Northern and Central Nigeria, where rural communities have become frequent targets of banditry and terrorism. Analysts have warned that without swift and coordinated action, more communities could face similar attacks.
