Speaking during a stakeholder meeting held in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, Oyebanji expressed gratitude to party leaders, traditional rulers, and the people of Ekiti for their unwavering support since he assumed office. He emphasized that his administration remains focused on delivering good governance and consolidating on the achievements recorded so far.
“I am seeking a second term not out of desperation but out of a deep sense of responsibility to complete the work we have started. Ekiti deserves nothing less than sustained growth and prosperity,” he said.
Addressing concerns about internal crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, the governor downplayed the tension, describing it as normal in a vibrant democracy. He assured that any disagreements within the party would be resolved amicably and would not affect the party’s unity or performance in the upcoming elections.
“We may have our differences, but APC in Ekiti remains one family. We will continue to dialogue and resolve our issues peacefully,” he stated.
Political analysts view Oyebanji’s re-election bid as a strategic move to consolidate the APC’s hold on the state, even as opposition parties prepare to challenge the ruling party in the 2026 governorship race.
The governor’s declaration marks the beginning of what is expected to be an intense political season in Ekiti State.
