Peter Obi to Nigerians: ‘Investigate Me, I’m Clean’ — Reaffirms Single-Term Presidential Ambition

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has once again reiterated his commitment to transparency and good governance, calling on Nigerians to conduct investigations into his past.

Speaking during a recent public engagement, Obi boldly declared that he has nothing to hide, urging citizens and institutions to probe his records both in public and private life.

“Conduct your investigations about me; I have no stains. My record is open and I have served diligently,” he stated, emphasizing the need for integrity in leadership.

Obi, who previously served as governor of Anambra State, also reaffirmed his promise to serve only one term if elected president. According to him, the commitment is modeled after the leadership styles of iconic global figures who placed national interest above personal ambition.

“I have said it before and I will say it again – I will serve only one term. Nigeria needs leadership that is focused, selfless, and ready to make real sacrifices,” Obi declared.

The former governor's statement has been met with mixed reactions across the political space, with many praising his courage and consistency, while others remain skeptical.

As the 2027 elections draw nearer, Obi continues to position himself as a frontrunner for reform-minded Nigerians seeking a shift from traditional political practices.
